Faefever Teaser #4!

Okay folks, good news! Feafever's release just got moved up to September 16th instead of September 29th! I am so excited about this release (as you can see)! Karen has also kindly provided us with another excerpt! Enjoy!!!

(Scene setting: Mac and Barrons are in a fight. He's on his back on the floor. She's sitting on top of him.)

"How dare you saunter in here and force me to give you answers when you've never given me a single one?" I hissed. I punched him in the stomach, hard. He didn't even wince. I punched him again. Nothing.

"You stand there all tan and glowing and wonder why I use force on you?" he bellowed. "Where the hell do you get off? You've been with V'lane again. How many slaps in the face do you think I'm going to take, Ms. Lane?" He grabbed my fist and held it when I tried to punch him again. I swung at him with the other. He caught that one, too. "I warned you not to play us against each other."

"I'm not playing you! I'm trying to survive. And I don't slap you when I go off with V'lane!" I tried to yank my fists from his hands. They might as well have been stuck in concrete. "It doesn't have anything to do with you. I'm trying to get answers and since you won't give me any, you can't blame me for going somewhere else."

"So the man who doesn't get laid at home has the right to go off and cheat?"

"Huh?"

"Which word didn't you understand?" he snarled.

"You're the one who's crippled by illogic. This isn't home, it never will be and nobody's getting laid!" I practically shouted. "You think I don't know that?" He shifted his body beneath me, making me painfully aware of something. Two somethings, in fact, one of which was how far up my short skirt had gotten shoved in our tussle. The other wasn't my problem. I wriggled, hoping to shimmy my hem down, since my hands were stuck, but his expression killed the thought. When Barrons looks at me like that, it rattles me. Lust, in those ancient, obsidian eyes, offers no trace of humanity. Doesn't even bother trying. Savage Mac wants to invite it to come out and play. I think she's nuts. Nuts, I tell you.

I subscribed to KMM's Newsletter per your heads up (thanks for that, by the way), and read this excerpt yesterday. Ooo la la! :)

I was not able to get into the first one. I am going to try it again another time because I love KMM's books.

Christine, The newsletter is really the only way to get information because her website isn't updated often. She doesn't have any info on Faefever on her site. I love the excerpts. They are great!

Kris, I will admit that because the first one has to set the series up, it is difficult to get into. Although, I did love Mac and I was hooked on the mystery of Barrons.

The second book is definitely better than the first. We get more clues and the relationship between Mac and Barrons is growing. Definitely give it another try. You might want to wait until all the books come out because I am chomping at the bit to get the next story. There will be a total of five books and she will only publish one a year. The wait is sure to kill me!

Good to know, thanks. I will probably wait until this one has come out and I get a break in books and then try them again. Then I only have to wait for the last book. Good to know that the series is good and that it was not just me that thought it was hard to get into.
