I am in a reading slump

I seem to be in some kind of a reading slump. I just can't get excited over any of the books in my TBR pile. From time to time reading other people's blogs, I see that this is just one of those things that happens. So what should I do about it? Well, what I have decided is to ask for you opinion in choosing the next book I read. I have posted up a poll for just this very reason. Go ahead and vote and tell me what you think I should read. I look forward to seeing your choices! Feel free to comment as to why you voted the way you did. I need all the help I can get!

Reading slumps bite don't they? Hopefully yours won't last. I've heard of all the books you have listed, but the only one I've read is Slave to Sensation - and it was a winner for me - thus earned my vote

I voted for Slave to Sensation for the same reason as Kristie!

Def StS. I returned kiss of fire to the library. I got 60 pages in and was like...meh. I might give it another go at a later date. Maybe after I see some more reviews. Nalini's series is great. I actually liked the 3rd one the best but it's a good series, each one just gets better and better! Good luck w/ the slump, I feel your pain I'm in one as well. Sigh.

Jill, I chose Slave To Sensation because I have it in TBR and I want to know your opinion on it. :D

Hope it'll get you out of the slump.

I have heard good things about Nalini Singh's series. It's just that recently, whenever I have started a new series, the first book hasn't been all that great. I have been putting off this book and Kiss of Fire for just that very reason. I am glad to hear everyone reiterating how good it is though. This is just the kind of motivation I need. Thanks ladies!

I voted for Roxanne St. Claire's book. Its the Bullet Catcher series, right? I don't have any of her books, but have wanted to read that series for a while now, so I'd love to hear your opinion.

I have a feeling you might be like Mollie and not like Kiss of Fire so much. I think I tend to be generous with my grades. Well, maybe I'm just fairly easy to please. =)

I *love* Nalini's Psy-Changeling series. Great world building and she really knows how to write a hero!

... can't wait to see what you decide to read!

I've been in a slump myself late. I think I've read something like 4 books in the last month. :( So sad.

I voted for O'Reilly, because I haven't read her and am curious to see if you think she's worth me reading. :P

Hey Jill :D

I'm with the majority, Slave to Sensation. Seriously, that book and series are awesome. I was hesitant too before reading StS and since then, I've re-read it soooo many times. That first book is great :D

I think that Kiss of Fire will only make your reading slump last longer... seems like everyone has difficulty reading it. The Atlantis series isn't that great either.

Holly - Rosie has kind of talked about Sex, Straight Up on her blog. I read it but didn't blog about it yet. Although I like the set-up, I had a real problem with the hero and heroine during the book... it depends on you, Jill, but I think StS will be better :P

Well ladies, thank you so much for your input. It looks like the winner by a landslide is Slave to Sensation! I started it yesterday and so far I am enjoying it.

I will eventually get to the other books. I am just not sure when. I have thought about rereading a few of my favorites to get me back in the mood. I feel a reread of Kingdom of Dreams coming on. For some reason I think I need to read a medieval. Let's hope this slump quickly passes by.
