Series Sunday - The Rarest Blooms

Madeline Hunter is one of my favorite authors. Originally, she began writing medievals and then moved on to regencies. Her writing is well balanced by strong characters and good plots, with plenty of action. Her other regency series, The Rothwells is another favorite of mine.

Currently, she has back to back releases of a new regency historical quartet, The Rarest Blooms. The first book Ravishing in Red is set to release in a couple of days, followed by Provocative in Pearls in late February. Here is a little information about the first two books.

RAVISHING IN RED
The Rarest Blooms #1
Jove Books
February 2010 (On Sale January 26th)

Summary:

Armed with her cousin’s pistol, Audrianna travels to a coaching inn, to meet with a man who may have information that will clear her dead father’s name. She does not realize that the handsome man of commanding sensuality who shows up is not the person she expected, but instead Lord Sebastian Summerhays, one of her father’s persecutors, lured to the inn by the same advertisement that brought her there.

When the pistol accidentally fires, the situation becomes mortifyingly public, and thoroughly misunderstood. Audrianna is prepared to live with the scandal. Lord Sebastian has other ideas. . . Excerpt

Oh how I wish I saw this post yesterday! LOL I was in Borders yesterday afternoon and had Ravishing in Red in my hands, but wasn't sure as I've never read Madeline Hunter before. I should've put a call into one of my lifelines. LOL.

I'm going to get it next time.

Yes, ladies you really do need to catch up. Hunter is just wonderful!!

Christine - Oh no! Looks like you will just have to make another trip... Oh darn :) The nice thing is this is the start of a new series, so you don't have to play catch up.

I'm really glad that there is a new series by Madeline Hunter. I fell in love with her writing and characterization in The Rules of Seduction and became an instant fan of her work.

Went looking for Ravishing in Red today and it hadn't made it to the store yet. I was more than a little disappointed.

LOL, I'll be waiting for everyone's review before picking this up. While I find her stories well plotted, I don't know, I don't seem to connect with the characters... Have to say though, Ravishing in Red does sound interesting :D

Bummer Brie! Don't you just hate that when the store doesn't have what you want. I ordered mine online and it hasn't arrived yet. That annoys me too. But I really can't complain much seeing how I have at least 100 books sitting on the shelf waiting for me to read them.

Well, I'll let you know Nath, LOL! Kristie J. has a favorable review up. You might want to check it out.
