November Book Summary

Hi Everybody! How was the month of November for book reading?! For me it was a pretty decent month, if I do say so myself. I am so lucky that my reading mojo has continued on as long as it has. Usually, I have a book jag at some point during the year and I have yet to experience one this year. Even though last month was tough as far as book quality - no "A" reads among the bunch. This month was a little better. My best book was Maybe This Time by Jennifer Crusie and my worst read was Bound to a Warrior by Donna Fletcher. I had two fun surprises with Demon From the Dark and A Virgin River Christmas by two of my favorite series.

1. Touching Darkness, Rush (Paranormal) Rating: B
2. Wicked Lovely, Marr (YA/Paranormal) Rating: B
3. Bound to a Warrior, Fletcher (Medieval) Rating: C-
4. Pleasure Control, Fox (Contemporary/Erotic) Rating: C
5. Demon from the Dark, Cole (Paranormal) Rating: B+
6. Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor, Kleypas (Contemporary) Rating: B
7. The Pirate Lord, Jeffries (Historical) Rating: B-
8. Maybe This Time, Crusie (Contemporary/Paranormal) Rating: A-
9. A Touch of Scandal Liz Carlyle (Historical) Rating: B-
10. A Virgin River Christmas, Carr (Contemporary) Rating: B+
11. Happy Ever After, Roberts (Contemporary) Rating: B

Jill, you had a great month. I remember I loved A Virgin River Christmas by Carr. That story is the one that hooked me into reading the rest of the series. :) And I also enjoyed Demon from the Dark, although not as much as you did.

I'm definitely going to read the Crusie!

A Virgin River Christmas, that's the book that comes after the first trilogy, right? That one was very cute and I liked it :)

You did have a pretty good month :) I'm glad for you!! Can't wait to read your thoughts on Happy Ever After.

Hilcia - I thought with the holidays coming up that it would be the perfect time to read A Virgin River Christmas. And I was right!

I hope you like the Crusie, I think most people gave it positive reviews although, I may have enjoyed it more than most.

Nath - Yep, it's the fourth book of the series. I am so behind in this series. I have Second Chance Pass and Paradise Valley in the TBR. I am a little behind on my reviews but hopefully by the end of the week I'll have Happy Ever After reviewed.

That's great that you haven't experienced any reading lags this year.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one behind on the Virgin River series. The Christmas one is the last one I read too. I think there are about 6 after it & another 3 due out next year. Yikes!

For me I've been lacking on the reading a bit! It took me a very long time to finish the girl with the dragon tatoo but It was indeed a great book.
But recently I finished a romance/spy type book called, Carnal Weapon by author Peter Hoffmann. It's about this woman spy who gets her way with a rising wall street attorney through seduction in the bedroom. He slips some names of clients to her, and he finds himself in jail and his life unravelling into a hell! It's very saucey and could turn into a really great flick if ever went to theatres I think!

Leslie - OMG!! I am really going to be behind now. Actually, a publiscist just asked if I would like to review the January release and I can't since I am not caught up with the series yet. Otherwise I would love to. Crazy isn't it?!

Hi Chrissy - Thanks for stopping by! Carnal Weapon sounds really great. I'll have to check it out. I heard that The Girl with a Dragon Tatoo was slow in the beginning and then picks up. I also heard that the next two books in the series are really good. I haven't started the series myself, but maybe one day...
