Happy Easter and a Look Back at March

Happy Easter everbody! I am stealing a little time away from the family to contruct this post. March was a surprise for me this month. I really didn't think I would be able to read as much as I did because of my new job. I came in with a total of twelve books read.

We are just coming into the busy season with blueberries here in Florida and I spend my days driving around auditing farms. I have to make sure the farms are following safe hygiene practices. I bet you don't think about how your food gets from the farm to the grocery store. I never gave it a thought before I started this job. Now, I make sure I ALWAYS wash my produce before eating it!

Anyway, that is a little off the topic. What I was trying to point out is that I am on the road quite a bit. That means I have less time to read. I figured I would give audio books a try. I can listen to them in the car. I downloaded Definitely Dead and Undead and Unwed. So far, I think audio books are great for in the car.

This month was great as far as the quality of books chosen. I didn't have a book rated lower than a B-. Most of them were B+ and B. I wish every month could be like that.

1. Tears of the Moon, Roberts (Contemporary) Rating: B+
2. Skin Game, Grey (Paranormal) Rating: B-
3. SEALed with a Ring, Daughtridge (Contemporary) Rating: A
4. Magic Burns, Andrews (Urban Fantasy) Rating: B
5. Eleven on Top, Evanovich (Mystery) Rating: B+
6. Pleasure of a Dark Prince, Cole (Paranormal) Rating: B
7. Definitely Dead, Harris (Urban Fantasy) Rating: B
8. Provocative in Pearls, Hunter (Historical) Rating: B+
9. Gentlemen Prefer Succubi, Myles (Paranormal) Rating: B+
10. Lead Me On, Dahl (Contemporary) Rating: B-
11. Sapphire Dreams, Montgomerie (Time Travel) Rating: B+
12. Undead and Unwed, Davidson (Urban Fantasy) Rating: B

There's some good reads there. Magic Burns was my re-read for the month and while I liked it, Magic Strikes (book 3) is definitely better.

A very nice list! I liked Skin Game and I just read Cole's newest and liked it. I pretty much felt the same as you about the Myles book. :)

Hope you're well.

Great list Jill!

I'm kind of glad I don't have your job. I'm sort of a freak about washing things anyway, but I imagine I'd be totally over the edge if I saw some of the more unsanitary places out there. Blerg.

re: audiobooks - the problem I have with them is that they're so SLOW. I could read a book in a quarter of the time it takes me to listen to one. I like them for when I'm cleaning/driving/etc, but they also frustrate me because once I've finished cleaning/driving/etc, I want to be able to finish the book in a hurry.

Still, I think they're a good alternative for reading while driving, etc.

Nath - Yeah, I was really surprised that I was able to get tweleve books in this month. Sheer determination, baby!

Leslie - I just got Magic Strikes from the library. Hopefully I will get to it soon.

Cecile - Thanks!! I was really happy I made my goal too!

Tracy - Hey, I am doing well. Just staying busy. I am glad that I am still able to squeeze a few books in.

Holly - Yeah, it's a good thing I am not a germophobe or I would have a real problem with my job. You will be happy to know that the majority of farmers are very strict about what they put on their crops and who they let pick them. It's quite interesting actually.

LOL, about the audiobooks. A lot of your feelings reflect my own reaction. They are SLOW. And if it is a slow book to begin with then you are double doomed. Although, when driving audiobooks can be blessing and make a boring drive bareable.
